PET Resources
Belinda Hayward is the Project Coordinator of PET, working as a full time employee based at Pecanwood College.
Many parents from the College and people from the community volunteer their services to assist with projects and reading/art programmes.
Pecanwood College also has an Outreach Programme for all the learners in the school, and this provides us with many enthusiastic helpers for specific projects.
PET’s Board of Trustees consists of Mr Farrer (Headmaster of Pecanwood College), Ms Gallagher (Director of Centurus Colleges Trust), the Chairman of the Parent’s Association and 2 independent Trustees.
PET has it’s own bank account and set of accounts, which are audited annually by an independent auditor.
Fundraising
PET relies completely on funds raised from companies and individuals as no funding is received from Pecanwood College school fees. Our fund-raising activities include:
-
Three annual community events including – a Golf Day; a Ladies Breakfast and one other that changes each year. These events cover our overheads and regular outreach programmes.
-
Overseas donations – generated through Centurus Colleges Trust.
-
Corporate donations – CSI based donations towards specific projects.
-
Private donations – We have a number of private individuals that pledge a monthly stop-order towards our feeding scheme for schools.
-
Jumble Sales – Throughout the year we collect second-hand clothing and jumble and sell this to the community at very favourable prices. This generates a small amount of money for the Trust whilst providing cheap clothing to the community.
-
Other events – We tag onto, and organize, various other fund-raising promotions and events to generate income for our outreach activities.
